Elytras make the player's head go through blocks

I was in my survival using some elytras in the nether after an hour or two the hitbox of my head became a ghost so my head was going through blocks and when I went to the overworld when using the elytras the same thing happened I think it must happen because at using the elytras we can go through a block so our character remains as if we had elytras
