Render distance past 28 chunks

When I turn my render distance up from 28-32 the Minecraft graphics start to spaz out and the blocks are red black and purple, Nether portal graphics were fine, affects end, nether and overworld on all of my world saves but not servers, I haven't tested realms yet. It didn't affect my inventory, hot bar or Settings.
