Minecarts break in the nether.

If I have minecarts in the nether, and leave to the overworld for more than a minute, I come back and the minecarts are broken and lying on the floor. I have them on top of hoppers, because it's part of a farm. I know they're not getting blown up, because I have them protected with blocks.
