iPad mini 5 very poor FPS rate

Minecraft Bedrock runs surprisingly poor on my 2019 iPad mini (A12 chip). Even when I turn all of the settings to their bare minimum, I still get some chop and fluttering. Someone else on here suggested this could be due to the game utlizing the "efficiency" cores rather than the "performance" cores.

 

it would be pretty cool if this got sorted out... it's almost 2022 and I would like to be able to sit on the couch and play instead of firing up the gaming PC.
