Text on book and quill, signs and chat disappear or don't come through

(on realm and not on realm) when i type on a signs and type in a book or chat the text would either disappear, isn't visible to other players or just doesn't show up at all. When i was typing in a book and quill the text would show up as normal but when im done and shut the book and open it again the text isn't there, i left the game and joined again to see if i was just lag or something but it still wasn't there. With the chat the message wouldn't show up until an hour later. And with signs the text would randomly decide to work and would randomly disappear if a dye or glow ink was put on it.
