Chains don't connect to each other

Chains don't connect to each other really well, they just float.
There are 3 ways to reproduce this.

How to reproduce:
1. Place a chain horizontally on a vertical chain
2. Place a lantern below a horizontal chain
3. Place a chain vertically on a horizontal chain

What I expected:
The chains will connect, like glass panes

What I saw:
The chains were floating a couple of pixels away
