Accept Invite no longer works on Switch and disables buttons

Sending invite from "iPad mini 2" running iOS 12.5.5 and Minecraft v1.17.32, once accepted on Switch running Minecraft v1.17.32, does not do anything and then the following button issues arise: left/right joypad response is reversed (left moves right & vice-versa); XL/XR/+/X not work.

Prior Minecraft version worked fine before the update to v1.17.32.
