Game begins to freeze and crash after playing for 20-30 min

After playing for around 20-30 min the game will start freezing and crashing. When it starts freezing if you hit the Xbox jewel the game sometimes starts working again for a few seconds. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times and tried restarting the consoles many times and the issue persists.
