Structures not saveing

Built a structure at my home base. Used lots of resources to create. I left the chunk to explore. I exited the game in a different chunk. I came back the next day and went to my home base. The structure I built was gone, although all my chests with the resources I used to build it were empty. Therefore it did save, but the structure I built was the only component not to save. Very frustrating due to the length of time it took to build in survival. I hope a patch is implemented soon, thanks so much.
