Constant hard crashes on M1 iPad Pro when playing Minecraft

This is a problem that started when I began using my new iPad Pro with the M1 chip to play Minecraft. It has almost become unusable now. The game will lock up and then my entire iPad goes into a restart. Once it restarts I can get back into Minecraft and load my world edit goes back to the last saved point.

No other app or game causes this to happen.

The only other consistent variable is that I am using an Xbox controller connected to Bluetooth.
