when I try to play my Nintendo switch on a multiplayer world with my friend on a pc it doesn't show up on multiplayer worlds they have to invite me into the world

When my friend is on a multiplayer world it doesn't show up that she's on a world she has to invite me Into the world manually before I can get on(she is using a pc and I'm using a Nintendo switch)
