Raw Iron, Gold, and Copper wont smelt

I started a world on a server for the 1.16 update. since updating to 1.17. I have not been able to smelt any raw materials. I can silk touch Iron and get an iron block, and that will smelt, but if I put Raw Iron in a furnace or blast furnace, nothing happens.  

 

and this has been the case for all hot fix updates since the release of 1.17
