My Minecraft version did not update to 17.2

I have tried a lot of things to fix the issue I have on Minecraft. I tried deleting the game then redownloading it to see if it would work and it did nothing. I tired searching up what to do and I don't know how it is done. If you can help, please do. I wanna help my mom in her world. Thanks
