Nintendo Switch - Mod "Pets World" Second player can't put down a pet

Just purchased "Pets World" Mod by "Kubo Studio's" on the Nintendo Switch

 

Players use the hand tool to pick up pets and hit the 'B' button to put down the pet.

 

except, this only works for player 1,  player  2, is stuck holding the pet.
