Cant Jump

Not sure if i chose the right version but im on minecraft on the xbox one, not the xbox one edition but the one that just says Minecraft. My issue is that i cant jump, when i run i slide and when i go off a block i just float. No im not in creative mode. I tried to change to creative and go back to fix it but that didnt work. I double tap (A) to go in and out of creative no problem but when i double tap to go out of creative back to survival I just float again and slide around and cant jump.
