cross play with switch

About a month ago, our switch stopped being able to see our bedrock server. Since then there have been several updates and none of it has made the switch work. I tried my son's account and mine. Neither work. The playstation can connect to it just fine. Before this, it was working pretty well for a couple of months. Periodically it would break on software updates before that though. The switch version seems somewhat fragile. :/

All I want to do is play with my son, and this is getting really frustrating. Any ideas why this may be happening?
