All the loot in my inventory disappeared

I was playing Minecraft and I went to play a different game and closed the application, When I came back to Minecraft 30 minutes later and joined the world, I spawned near my bed with no loot like I was killed but I wasn't I just closed app, So I wanted to know why that happened and or if my loot can be restored
