When i was building up in the nether i just randomly died and it said i fell from a high place

So i was in the nether building up trying to leave a Bastian and all of a sudden while i was jumping and building up i died for no reason and there were no mobs because it was on peaceful. Then i tested it out every once  in a while i would take damage while i was just jumping around.
