Never enabled creative or cheats but lost the ability to get achievements.

Me and my girlfriend have been playing a survival world for a few weeks and we don't like cheats on because we like the authentic gameplay and the achievements. But then we went to play this morning and It said achievements weren't available and we are both upset because we both know we didn't activate cheats or creative. Completely ruined the weeks of work we have spent on our world please help.
