Lost all my inventory from dying from an iron golem

I was fighting an iron golem in my survival world however I died, I was in my villager trading hall on top of a piston, I respawned about five blocks away from one of the villagers bed, I lost all my inventory expect my armour, I am so mad because I had several stacks of emeralds, golden apples and potions of weakness, lost all my progress from this.
