Nether Portal crash

Look I love this game but the world crash when switching dimensions is making the nether unusable for me, which is a big part of the game for travel, farming, ect. Due to these constant crashes I've lose a good 100 plus diamond badged villagers constantly having to relevel professions and villagers to have diamond level items at my trading hall. Please HELP!
