Unable to connect to world

I cannot connect to a cross-platform Minecraft world my friend made.

No matter what I do, I can't connect to the world.

I tried reinstalling, deleting everything, loading up a world before trying to join and joining a server before trying to join.

It feels like nobody even cares because this issue is a constant problem since 2019. Does anyone even test this game? It really makes me despise Microsoft even more that I can't use the game to play with a friend that I bought. This is why Java will always be superior.
