If you stand 9 blocks or so away from a chest or anything that has its own UI, and tap the block, the UI opens for a split second, then exits immediately.

If you stand 9 blocks away from anything that has its own UI, such as a chest, hopper, dropper, dispensor, etc. and then tap on that block to open its UI, it will pop up for a split second, then will exit immediately.

Edit: Only occurs in Creative, at any distance larger than 8 blocks.
