Y-axis 128???

Not really a bug, but in the live version of the game the Y-axis is 256 blocks. 128 blocks is just way to little I almost started crying when I found out about this because I have always liked building super big things in minecraft. And had started on a big build in the beta. I even tried modifying the level.dat file but the format is something I have never seen before and no program seems to be able to edit it. Now I probably wont open the game for another month hahah. I can live with a bunch of bugs and was happy to help report them here but this just killed the game for me.
