I Died After Jumping Through the End Gateway and Lost All My Stuff

When I went back through the end gateway back to the overworks, I spawned at my bed and just, died. The screen was red like I was dead but there was “Generating World” at the bottom where my hotbar would be. When I exited out of the game, I came back only for all my items in my inventory to disappear mysteriously. I was able to collect some of the XP upon my death by my bed (where I supposedly died) but no items were there or in the End.
