When crossbow is in hand player can't break blocks

So I was getting ready to fight the ender dragon so I made a crossbow and noticed that I didn't have a bed to set my respawn point and so I went to my in-game bedroom and upon trying to break the bed their was now block breaking animation so I switched inventory slots to see if it was the crossbow and indeed it was so I placed the bed again and tried breaking it once more with the crossbow in hand and it still didn't break. Its not a huge issue but it still needs to be resolved as soon as possible
