Shield placement in left hand is incorrect

When holding a shield on the left hand, the shield appears in the wrong position. In the screenshot below, the shield appears to be cutting straight through the player but sometimes it's in a slightly closer (still incorrect) spot. This has been going on at least since version 1.17.10
