The deepslate is not in the caves part. Its replaced with stone instead?

So basically i started this Minecraft world and i have been playing it for the last 3 to 5 days now and when i reached to the lower levels of the game (because I'm playing with the experiments enabled) and all i see is stone instead of deepslate. Is this supposed to happen?
