Dying after leaving end.

Hi 

I am playing on a server with my friend. Everything was fine until i defeated ender dragon. I left after defeating and then remembered that i want the egg. I got my egg and left, as soon as i got through the portal  I died and lost all my items. The cause of dying was hitting the ground too hard. I checked the seed in normal world and i died again and lost items.
