Game crashes when loading worlds with texture packs

When using texture packs at x128 or higher loading into worlds causes the game to completely shut down. Ive tried single player, realms, offline. All the same. Worlds will load if i use the cog icon to lower resolution to x64. Thought it was on the texture pack side but creator said its on mojang side so i decided to make a report.
