When playing multiplayer over LAN, the player's skin always changes to Steve

When playing multiplayer over LAN, the player's skin always changes to Steve. So we had to exit and re-enter the game in order to appear with the skin used. But it also doesn't last long, in a few moments the skin returns to Steve.
