Settings button missing from main menu

When I loaded up Minecraft, The settings button on the main menu was gone. I tried all of the options to try to fix it such as: Reopening the game, Restarting device, and re downloading the game. The settings icon was still missing. I searched for reports on this bug but nothing was posted.
