Flight in survival?

Me and my friend have a survival world, but we go in creative and cheat a lot. So we were playing, and when I was trying to glide with my elytra, in survival, I started flying. Like creative flying. I don't know why this is happening, but it did. Now I am the most op player on this world. Please fix this.
