Trouble Signing In with Microsoft Account

When we sign in with a microsoft account, it tries "Connecting," then we get a screen telling us to sign in with our free microsoft account to experience the full world of minecraft.  It tells us to visit "https://aka.ms/remoteconnect" and gives us a code to enter.  We go to the site, enter the code, then enter our microsoft account info.  Then nothing happens.  We click sign in with a microsoft account again, and it does the same thing.  Sometimes it acts like it is going to sign in, then it goes to what looks like a starting screen, but nothing ever loads.  Help please!
