Lost all of my experience and all the items in my inventory

The game closed and sent me to the menu (this happens a couple of times each time I play recently), when I opened the world again I lost all of the items I have in my inventory, my armor, and even my experience. I tried restarting the game to see if it's a weird glitch but everything's still missing.
