Sugar cane cant be /fill -ed

When trying to fill an area with sugar cane using the /fill comand sugar cane does not come up as an option and even when typing it in, it says "Syntax error: Unexpected"sugar_cane": at "~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ >>sugar_cane"
