Error occurred twice shutting down entire game.

I have been playing Minecraft on the switch for a few months and haven't had any major issues except tonight. It said a software error occurred causing the game to completely crash. When restarting the game, none of the previous data had been saved (I only lost about 5 minutes worth of game play, but still odd considering that this has never happened to me before). This error occurred twice, so it wasn't just a one-time thing. I know there was a new update that was released, so I was just surmising that it was due to that. Not sure, just wanted to send a report.
