Sonic DLC Bug

I was playing the new Sonic DLC for Minecraft and when I was playing with a friend and he completed the level while I was still collecting rings, I double jumped with Amy and when the ring box loaded to buy new characters, I was stuck ABOVE the level and could not move. When he went to the next stage, I was STILL stuck in the air. I tried saving and quitting but it just froze. I think the game got confused because I was in the air when we were teleported to the buy area.
