When I type the replace command and try to replace something with dirt, it's replaced with coarse dirt.

I've been using the command /fill xyz xyz dirt 1 replace _____ to replace things like sand, gravel, and clay with dirt. However, whenever I use this command, it instead replaces the block with coarse dirt.
