Main account on Nintendo Switch goes black when logging in. Then get and error when the game closes.

When logging into Minecraft on Nintendo Switch for the main account the screen goes black and the game does not load. When closing software it gives an error message. Has been this way for 4 months now. I've paid for the game and would like for my child to be able to play it. Not sure what version this is.
