Character set on fire going through portal back into overworld

This has been happening since the 1.17 update. My character is randomly set on fire going through the nether portal back into the overworld from the nether. There has never been fire nearby, nor a ghast or lava, so there is no way my character could be set on fire. I have died many times because of this.
