/kill doesn't work on creative players

Whenever you try to /kill a player in creative (including yourself), it comes back with the error message "No targets matched selector" and doesn't kill the player. This is especially annoying when you want to /kill yourself to get back to spawn and you have to switch to survival before you can do so. This issue does not exist on Java Edition.
