missing textures and visual effects

with the adding of the 1.17 update, i had made a new world and i spawned by a swamp, i saw some chickens on the other side of a river, so i sprint-swam through it. but, the water fog effect was gone! i went under water again because at the time some breaking textures were messed up, but no, the effect was gone!
