Very weird skin issues with LAN + split screen

When you join a LAN game and have split screen. there is very weird skin issues. When using custom characters, sometimes both players on the split screen show up with the same skin. Also, the models may improperly load, and have some very weird effects when trying to fix the issue by customizing the character again. I cannot get a picture of what happens, because it takes a while.
