Red stone not working properly

So I got the new update and strived to get some red stone lamps for my lovely castle build and once I installed the lights I started with the red stone and for some reason the lights won't turn off, and no matter what I tried it wouldn't turn off unless I broke them and replaced them down and once they were powered they went back to be not turn off again I hope this can be fixed
