Minecraft switch not allowing crossplay with other consoles

The switch 1.17.1 hotfix despite saying crossplay is still available completely shuts down all crossplay. Switch players can play with switch players but when me, and xbox player tried to join, it simply wouldn't allow due to the updates technically being different. My version is 1.17.0 and the switch updated to a hotfix 1.17.1 shutting off crossplay
