1.17 nether portal bug

Upon entering the nether I hit a long loading screen and after 30seconds my character was killed instantly and deleted everything I was carrying. I've attempted to recreate the issue but I can't get this bug to happen again but it should be looked into hopefully this isn't happening to alot of players.
