Block lag

When playing on my solo survival world I started noticing huge amounts of lag (even though the entity count was low, and there was nothing around that should cause lag. When cleaning out an area in my house using an efficiency 5 Netherite pickaxe. I mined 2 stone blocks in which re-appeared then disappeared.
