Whilst trying to connect to my server my friend gets frozen on a "locating server" screen

Whilst trying to connect to a server with my friend she gets stuck on a "locating server screen. We have tried deleting the apps, turning off our phones, and restarting the wifi and nothing has worked. When she is stuck on this screen she can't even press the cancel button.
