can only move in two directions

PS4,  I repaired a portal in the overworld. When I went through it to the nether, my portal was gone.  I restarted my PS4 and it returned.  When i went back through I was left in a tree and now can only move forward and backwards. only in a straight line.  I tried to fish but the bobber only sinks.
